McGard Deutschland GmbH is committed to making the website https://shop.mcgard.de accessible in accordance with national legislation implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
The requirements set forth in Section 14 of the European Accessibility Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG)) in conjunction with Section 3(1) BFSG, as well as the regulation pertaining to the BFSG (BFSGV), apply to digital services.

Supplement to the Statement on Accessibility

On our website, the accessibility plugin AccessGO www.accessgo.de is offered by the German Society for Accessibility (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Barrierefreiheit mbH (DGfB). 

Using this plugin, users can customise our website to individual restrictions or preferences. 

The settings can be accessed by means of the AccessGO icon or alternatively through the keyboard shortcut ‘ALT + 1’. All functions can also be controlled using the keyboard.

Among other things, it is therefore possible to adjust the following aspects:

• Font size
• Contrast
• Emphasis of links
• Activation of a screen reader
• Use of profiles to activate multiple settings simultaneously.

How accessible is the offering?

The assessment is based on a self-evaluation using the accessibility tool from AccessGO. This review found that the website is partially accessible in accordance with the aforementioned requirements. The following points are not fully compliant with the accessibility regulations applicable to us:

• Barrier: Some buttons are empty or do not contain descriptive text.
• Barrier: Some links are empty or contain no text, rendering their purpose or function unclear.
• Barrier: Skipped heading level in the document structure.
 

We are working continuously to optimise the accessibility of our website and 

gradually add missing features.

Responsible market surveillance authority

In order to fulfil the tasks of the European Accessibility Act, the German states are currently establishing a joint office. The Market Surveillance Authority of the German States for the Accessibility of Products and Services (Marktüberwachungsstelle der Länder für die Barrierefreiheit von Produkten und Dienstleistungen (MLBF)) is to commence operations as a new institution under public law in Saxony-Anhalt, in the state capital Magdeburg.

A prerequisite for this is the ratification of the state treaty for the fulfilment of tasks in accordance with the European Accessibility Act (BFSG) by all German federal states. All states are currently creating the necessary conditions for this purpose.
